For those who don’t understand Catalan or sign language, the message from Marta is at your disposal:
“Dear Volunteers,
I’m Marta Bosch – Baliarda. I’m currently working on a European research project on accessible TV: HBB4ALL (for more information: www.hbb4all.eu). The project is based on 3 pillars: audiodescription, subtitling, sign laguage. In the futre on connected TV, the Internet can offer an accessibility service options, customizable by users (size, color, position of subtitles, screen sign language, etc.). While research on subtitling already has some advancements, the features necessary for the integration of sign language screen are just beginning to be developed, when thay must provide a service of high quality TV of the future.
For this study, I made contact with the sign language users who wish to participate in a discussion group (or goups) to debate and to analyze relevant issues related to the improvement of the sign language TV services (sign language, th size of subtitles, the location pn the screen, etc.) for deaf people, thereby ensuring better and universal access to media content.
If you are interested in this discussion group, if you want to participate, please contact me by email at: [email protected]. Your participation will be in morning or afternoon (it depens on the availability of space and users number) of June at the Casa del Mar in Barcelona.
I hope many of you will participate, and I encourage your coming to make yourself heard. For us, your opinion is very important to advance this project!
Tanks in advance.
Best Regards. Marta.”
